Join your neighbors to talk about planning for a “Daffodil Festival Weekend” April 14-15, 2018 and other projects!

St. Michaels in Bloom is a newly formed community organization dedicated to the beautification of St. Michaels. Consisting solely of volunteers, St. Michaels in Bloom works to create a welcoming and vibrant landscape for our town through the planting colorful flowers, plants, and trees throughout our business and community districts.

Part of the national organization, America in Bloom, whose vision is to have localities across the US participate in community beautification projects, the goal of St. Michaels in Bloom is to see our community bloom in many ways.

The first project undertaken by St. Michaels in Bloom resulted in the installation of 16 Hay Baskets and autumn flower plantings along Honeymoon Bridge. Plans include maintenance and replenishment of the planters with seasonal plant varieties throughout the year for a continual display of beautiful flowers and plants.

Our second community project, currently underway, will be the 2018 Daffodil Festival scheduled for next April which will include the planting of over 20,000 daffodils throughout the town of St. Michaels as well as festivities designed to encourage visitors and to benefit residents and businesses alike. St. Michaels Community groups, merchants, and residents are encouraged to show support through the display of daffodils and through participation in our Daffodil Festival Events.

St. Michaels in Bloom will be offering local merchants the opportunity to purchase blooming potted daffodils for their businesses to display during Daffodil Festival – next April 14th and 15th, 2018. Potted daffodil arrangements will be offered for sale in 6” and 4” pots at a nominal cost and will be delivered prior to the Daffodil Festival. A representative from St. Michaels in Bloom will provide local merchants with order forms and further information about the 2018 Daffodil Festival as we get closer to our Festival Date.

If you have any questions, please contact MaryLou McAllister at (410) 310-4765.

As our organization grows, it is the vision of St. Michaels in Bloom to encourage and benefit our local community through education, community sharing, volunteering, beautification, and friendship. We encourage your support and participation in our efforts so our community will continue to bloom!
