St. Michaels & Bay Hundred is joining communities across the USA to participate in the 2018 National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. An Inaugural St. Michaels & Bay Hundred National Night Out celebration will be held at the Bay Hundred Pool next to St. Michaels Elementary School. The event is open to the public with free hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages and cake, swimming, music by a local DJ, safety demonstrations, resource tables, youth activities, visits from Maryland Food Bank, emergency personnel, exhibits and much more. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. Free swimming for all at the Community pool is from 6-8 p.m. Guest speakers including members of law enforcement and community leaders will start at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a cake cutting. At 8:15 p.m., all participants will take a lighted walk through the streets of St. Michaels as a show of community. Residents are asked to turn on porch lights as a show of support.
