America is vaccinating, beginning to open up, and National Night Out is on.

St. Michaels & Bay Hundred is joining communities across the USA to participate in the 2021 National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The 3rd Annual St. Michaels & Bay Hundred National Night Out celebration will be held at the Bay Hundred Pool next to St. Michaels Elementary School.

The event details are coming together based on the Covid-19 pandemic situation, but we are hoping to hold and event that is open to the public…with free hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, beverages and cake, swimming, games, prizes, music by a local DJ, safety demonstrations, resource tables, visits from Maryland Food Bank, emergency personnel, exhibits and much more. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. Free swimming for all at the Community pool is from 6-8 p.m. Guest speakers including members of law enforcement and community leaders will start at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a cake cutting. At 8:15 p.m., all participants will take a lighted walk through the streets of St. Michaels as a show of community. Residents are asked to turn on porch lights as a show of support. For more information, call 410-745-9535.
