Town Office Billing and A/R Clerk Position

The Town of St. Michaels, population 1,040, is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is seeking a full-time Billing and A/R Clerk. Known as “the town that fooled the British”, St. Michaels boasts a combination of popular marinas, inns, bed & breakfasts, shops, and restaurants that make it a favorite destination for visitors. Frequently featured in travel publications and a popular destination, St. Michaels is steeped in history and maritime culture.
The Billing and A/R Clerk position manages the water utility billing and collection, general billing and accounts receivable processes. Familiarity and/or ability to learn Quickbooks is required as well as basic analytical and research skills that enable problem resolution.

The Town of St. Michaels offers a generous benefit package including health care, paid vacation, paid sick leave, a pension plan through Maryland State Retirement System, and encourages training and development. Competitive salary dependent upon qualifications.

Commission Election Results

May 2, 2022, an election for two of the five offices of Commissioner of the Town of St. Michaels, Talbot County, Maryland was held. The term of office for the two top vote winners is four (4) years, expiring in June 2026. Said election was held at the Edgar M. Bosley, Jr. Municipal Building (Town Office), 300 Mill Street, St. Michaels, MD from 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Notice Regarding Trash Containers

Effective Monday, May 2nd, the Town of St. Michaels refuse contractor will limit trash service to the authorized containers that were provided to each address in January. In January, each address received one (1) blue, 96 gallon trash container and the public was encouraged to obtain extra containers if needed. Extra trash containers will be billed at $75 per quarter, per container. Any residence or business requiring additional trash containers should contact the Town office at 410-745-9535 as soon as possible. Additional recycling containers will also be made available upon request.
